For
centuries now people have been using bows and arrows in order for them to be
able to protect themselves as well as their loved ones from possible harm that
may befall them. These archery bows
and arrows were also used to provide for our ancestor’s food as well as their
clothing. This is also probably one of the reasons why most hunters today
prefer to use the archer’s bow and arrow to hunt for game even though archery
is considered by most people as a dying and antiquated art.
Most
countries in the world today have disallowed game hunting, while places like
some countries in Africa and in the Americas have special reserves for the
express purpose of providing big game hunters a chance to showcase their skills
either with a gun or with any long ranged weapon of their choosing. For people
who prefer using a bow, hunting big game in Africa might be quite a stretch,
the reason being that the game or animals that they will be hunting are quite
enormous. Elephants, rhinos and the other big animals of the savanna are
essentially hard to bring down with just a bow and arrow so it would seem
better if they were to hunt somewhere in the Americas.
Although
the game animals in the Americas are not necessarily as big as those in Africa,
they are by no means small fry. In fact most of them are quite ferocious, and
would not hesitate to attack humans as well as other animals if provoked. This
would then put to good use any hunter’s skill when it comes to using archery bows, because of the precision
as well as the speed needed to accurately hit any target. Aside from this, most
of the game reserves in these parts of the continent are essentially well kept
and provide for a lot of the needs of the hunters.
